Can Blackberry Defeat Windows phone 8?

RIM’s CEO Thorsten Heins believes that Blackberry 10 has “a clear shot at being the number three platform on the market.”  He also said, “We’re not just another open platform on the market, we are BlackBerry.” This means ,according to him,Blackberry can easily defeat WP 8.  Unfortunately Blackberry 10 devices probably won’t be released until early 2013 which is well after we will see Windows Phone 8 on the market.

Furthermore, there hasn’t been a whole lot of consistent buzz building up behind Blackberry 10. There was the new beta 3 reveal a couple weeks ago, but it has not been keeping itself in the tech news very well. Windows Phone 8 on the other hand has been having some big reveals of new devices, and Microsoft is still keeping us on the edge of our seats to see if they’ll surprise us with new features within the operating system like they surprised us with their Surface tablet reveal earlier this year.

If Blackberry wants to get to number 3 in the smartphone wars, they probably need a strong ecosystem that connects to all of the other electronic peripherals in our lives. Apple has a hugely successful ecosystem driven by iTunes and their iOS appstore that makes keeping all of your devices tied to that ecosystem very compelling. Android’s ecosystem is backed by the hugely successful Google search engine and all of the great online services that Google brings to the table. Microsoft’s ecosystem is backed by their hugely successful Windows operating system, Office productivity suite, and Xbox 360. What exactly does Blackberry tie into that’s so compelling? Perhaps the old Blackberry Enterprise servers? Most of the advantages of those have been made obsolete by all of the Exchange ActiveSync compatible servers and services out there these days. That Blackberry Hub which unites emails, messaging, and social networking notifications seems nice.
Does Blackberry really have enough surprises in its sleeve to surpass Windows Phone next year?

Siri Is Advertising Falsely

If you thought only Apple’s commercials on TV were practicing false advertising, try asking Siri to do a web search for something like “the best computer”. Instead of actually providing information based on web search results and user reviews, Apple’s Siri software will provide a “sponsored answer” instead that advertises Apple’s products.  When you ask Siri, “What is the best computer?” Siri answers with “a mac” instead of an answer that’s backed by actual data or a listing of information that’s relevant to your questions.  We saw a similar issue earlier when you could ask Siri “What is the best smartphone?” and the response would give you actual data from the internet that indicated that the Nokia Lumia 900 was the best smartphone at the time.  Apple quickly replaced that actual answer with a sponsored advertisement for the iPhone instead.  This means that other “more-accurate” information is being removed from Siri’s results in order to promote Apple’s own products.

Reasons To Buy A Surface Tablet

The Microsoft made Windows Surface RT has already started shipping out to customers. So why should you buy a Surface Tablet?Well, there are many reasons but out of them,I have shortlisted a few:

1.Its Microsoft

Microsoft has always been known for making software for other hardware manufacturers, however when they do make hardware, they do it really well. You’d know this if you’ve ever owned a Zune, or any of the Microsoft-made keyboards and mouse options out there.  The Surface RT hardware is sure to be very impressive, high quality, and 'handsome'.

2.Battery Life

The Surface RT is running on an ARM processor as opposed to the usual x86/x64 processors that Windows PCs usually use.  ARM processors are primarily designed for mobile devices with low power requirements.  That can mean only one thing-more efficient processing and better battery life.

3.Xbox Smartglass

Agreed, any Windows  8 tablet will work with Smart Glass on the Xbox 360 and there will be versions of this software for other platforms like Windows Phone, iOS and Android, but the Windows 8 will surely have better support and more features in their Smart Glass offering, and the Surface RT will have the added benefit . Being able to control your web browser on a large TV screen connected to an Xbox 360 while you pinch and gesture your way around a touch screen tablet could finally make large-screen web browsing usable.

 4.Touch Keyboard

Though I haven't yet checked it out or seen any videos,it definitely looks like some significant innovation went into making it so thin.  I kind of want to buy one just to try out that keyboard.

5.Microsoft Ecosystem

Microsoft will be putting a lot of effort into adding interesting apps, services, and functionality to their new Windows tablets.  The free music streaming part of Xbox Music is only going to be available on Windows 8 and Windows RT, so that will be pretty nice to have.  Plus there will be the cloud sync capability so that you can play music from your other PCs.  You’ll also see some great apps for Bing related content including custom news feeds, sports, Bing search, travel information, finance, etc.  Xbox integration will be a great advantage as well.

So have you pre-ordered  Surface ?What are your reasons?

Windows RT Almost Identical To Windows 8

The Microsoft Surface  Windows RT has already started shipping out and, reports are generating a lot of controversy related to Windows RT and its capabilities. Furthermore, there also happens to be a lot of confusion regarding Windows RT and Windows 8.
Regardless, the folks at PhoneArena apparently went down to a to check the tablets out and one rep there was trying to reportedly convince them that “Windows RT is nearly identical to Windows 8″. While this might be the case at a first, layman look at the tiles on the Home screen, it definitely is not when it comes down to the operating system itself.
Windows 8 can run all of  applications out there. Windows RT on the other hand can only run the pre-installed apps plus those available in the Windows Store. That’s a major difference, right? Whether the store rep was also confused about this or this is what Microsoft is using in order to drive sales is yet unknown.

Nexus 10 Shown On Video

The Samsung-made Google Nexus 10 tablet managed to get itself caught on camera yet again, after its video appeared the other day. The video is very short but does, briefly, show the new lockscreen layout and takes a quick look at the homescreen
The Nexus 10 underneath an Ace Iconia A100

Sadly the video itself isn't properly set up so you can't have a good lock at the screen .The Google Nexus 10 has a 10.1" display of 2560 x 1600 resolution, which amounts to the impressive 299 pixels per inch and even outdoes Apple's iPad's "Retina". Under the hood the Nexus 10 will be driven by a dual-core Exynos 5250 SoC with two Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz and the potent Mali-T604 graphics processor.
The Nexus 10 was supposed to be released on 29 October but sadly due to the hurricane Sandy ,it was cancelled.

Twist Pilot Game Review

Phil is a sort of weirdly shaped snake(more like a rubber band),who also constantly rotates.

Though the game sounds easy,it is not so partly because Phil is rotating.Timing is crucial in this game .Well, the actual tricky part comes now.If you touch something that is not a ring or a key you lose health. Lose enough health and the game is over and you have to start the level all over again. Thankfully, your health regenerates and in particularly challenging levels you will also find health boosts but that doesn’t mean you can carelessly lose your health. Losing health also comes with a 1.5 second time penalty, which affects your final time.

You have power-ups scattered throughout the levels to help you through. Some of them make Phil smaller so he can squeeze through tight spaces. Some make him longer, which honestly only makes things more difficult. Some slow him down, some increase his rate of rotation and some make him spin the other way. The effects of these power-ups are temporary so you need to do whatever you have to do quickly once you use them. The power-ups are optional and you can only use them if you want to although at times they are necessary.

The initial levels in the game are fairly simple. You will be navigating through uncomplicated mazes and not have much in terms of enemies to worry about. The later levels wind up the difficulty level considerably and make you crawl through some tight spaces while throwing a ton of spiders in for good measure. The target time also drops from comfortably high to uncomfortably close and you may find yourself replaying levels if you dawdle around or take too much damage repeatedly.

I myself didnt believe this but the game is quite fun actually. This game is more for kids though. The graphical department needed a bit of improvement. But for $ .99 I think it is th worth giving the game a try.

Tips To Increase Internet Speed

Do you browse the web regularly and now you are simply irritated because of your  slow internet connection? Are you tired because once you click on a link you have to wait for ages and just stare at the white screen? Then you are in the perfect place cause I am gonna give you a lot of useful tips and software out there to help you increase internet speed to give you an awesome internet experience.

1.Install Antivirus

Viruses are responsible for terribly slowing  down your internet speed. Hence, it is highly advisable to install a good antivirus software or an anti-spyware program and scan your machine to get rid of any malware. You can install the Zonealarm Antivirus+Firewall(free). For malware, you can download AntiMalware from Malwarebytes(free)

2.Free Bandwidth

If you are a windows operating system user, then you probably may or may not know that your windows operating system reserves 20% bandwidth for its own usage.
This is quite a substantial amount of bandwidth which can prove to be very useful to you if unlocked and there is a way to just do that.

1.Go to your windows start button click on it and type “run”; then hit Enter.
2.Type gpedit.msc in the run text field and a system window called Group Policy will pop up.
3.Expand the Local Computer policy directory.
4.Next go to Computer configuration directory >Administrative templates > Network > QOS Packet scheduler > Limited reservable bandwidth.
5.Click the Limited reservable bandwidth option
6.It is set to the option "Not configured" by default but actually it is using 20% of the bandwidth. Check "Enabled" option and set the bandwidth to either 5% or 0%; however, it is advisable to set it to 5%.
7.Click on the Apply button & then OK;

3.Disable automatic updates

Whenever you are on the internet, most of your installed applications will start accessing the internet; looking for updates to install and can end up consuming a lot of bandwidth. This is allright,if you have a speedy net.But if you have a slow net, then this can slow it further. To increase your internet speed, first of all disable your operating system "Auto update" function then disable auto update in all your installed programs or set them to manual updates.

4.Disable Add-ons In Your Browser

On your web browser check to see whether you have multiple add-ons running. Though useful, these add-ons can also affect your browser's webpage loading speed.
If you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer browser go to "Tools >> Manage add-ons” and disable any add-ons that are of no use to you.

If you follow these instructions then I am pretty sure that your net speed will increase. Please comment below to share your experiences.
