iPhone 5 India Release Date

iPhone 5 India Release Date
According to reports by BGR India, Apple’s latest device, the iPhone 5, will be launched on October 26th, 2015. It is actually believed that Apple will introduce the phones in numerous countries in two phases-the first phase will begin on October 19th and the second phase will begin on October 26th, which is when the phones will arrive in India. However, the company refused to comment on the much-awaited iPhone 5 launch in India.

The Delhi-based executive editor of BGR India, Rajat Agrawal, confirmed that the iPhone 5 will indeed be launched on the last Friday of this month in India. This launch will differ from previous Apple launches because the company claims that they will handle the sales of the device directly other than partnering with Indian telecom firms like Aircel or Airtel. However, Mr. Agrawal said that he is uncertain about the number of units that will arrive in India due to the shortage of iPhone 5’s that Apple has been facing.

The price of the new iPhone 5 is yet to be set though most experts concur that the basic model will cost approximately Rs 45,000. This estimated cost is based on last year’s launch price for the iPhone 4S and the cost of an unlocked iPhone 5 in nations like Singapore, which is about Rs 43,600.

The iPhone 5 is selling like wildfire in the USA!
After the new iOS device was launched in the United States in September, mixed reviews from customers were received as some claimed that it was boring while other stated that the product was amazing. The iPhone 5 was available in other countries such as Britain, Australia, Hong Kong, France, Japan, Germany, Singapore and Canada by September 21st, 2015. In addition to those, the company plans to launch the device in 100 countries as soon as possible, which will make it the fastest unveiling of any iPhone so far.

The release of the iPhone 5 in India before the Diwali festival is expected to increase its sales. According to an IDC report, India doesn’t have the subsidized pricing benefits that are available in other markets and therefore the cost of purchasing this iPhone and its accessories will be very high. Due to this reason, it can be assumed that it will take a while before Apple becomes a key player in the telecommunications industry in India regardless of whether or not the sales of the new iPhone will surpass those of the iPhone 4S.

Google Working On A Virus Scanner For Future Google Play Update

Android could get a virus scanner in future Google Play store update

Android’s Google Play seems to be on its way to get a built-in malware scanner. Found in the string file in one of the latest Google Play updates is evidence that Google is indeed working on a built-in application to detect viruses on Android, and that is something that will finally calm down a lot of people about the safety of the ecosystem.

The software in question is referred to as “App Check,” and by the looks of it, it is exactly there to detect malware. Judging from all the visible evidence (there is nothing official about it yet), the App Check will first scan pre-installed applications to see whether you haven’t already somehow gotten malware on your device.

Secondly, it will of course monitor new installations and warn you if they contain malware.

You can say it’s a malware scanner in the making not just by the name, but also by the accompanying icons with a shield and exclamation marks on triangles. The results of a scan will be “All-good” and “Oh no!”

That’s all great, but let’s underscore the fact that this “App Check” is not yet functional. It probably will arrive in future versions of Android, when it is expected to function along with Google’s “Bouncer” online service.

How To Reset Auto Brightness On Iphone 5

Image representing iPhone as depicted in Crunc...

With iOS 6 the auto brightness function received an overhaul, and started working in the lock screen now, too, so the display doesn't burn your retinas when you wake up in a darker room, and grab your phone with brightness settings  on high.

Itcan also adjust quickly from dark to bright environment, but gradually if you go from a lot of light to dimmer places, just like the human eye does.

However, this gradual adjustment, along with the "range brightness" used in the iPhone 5, which memorizes the position you manually put the slider in for different ambient light scenarios, and works its way up and down in a limited range from there if the auto brightness is on, make it look like nothing gets adjusted, even when you lock/unlock the phone.
How to reset the auto brightness function on your iPhone 5 from the new custom ranges
To reset the automatic brightness to its usual regime, and snap out of that range memory thingy a lot of phone makers are now using with varying degrees of success, especially for the extreme situations, you need to reset the iPhone 5 for the lowest brightness setting:

1. With the auto brightness switch OFF in settings, and the brightness slider at minimum, take the phone in a darker environment, like the bathroom with lights off, or a drawer ajar, for example

2. Turn the autobrightness switch to ON, and turn the lights on, or open the drawer fully, and you should see the slider move up on its own with a nice animation, going even further up when you venture outside, then bring itself back when you reenter, but more gradually than what we were used to before

It is a new way of working the automatic brightness, especially useful with the lockscreen dimming now, but if you set it at maximum manually outside, then turn the auto switch on, nothing will get dimmed down when you return inside, and vice versa, so people report doing the above reset, then just leaving the switch ON at all times and not touching the slider to avoid those "range" hassles.

Felix Baumgartner First Skydiver To Break Speed Of Sound

The moment of the jump by FELIX BAUMGARTNER
The moment of the jump by FELIX BAUMGARTNER
Felix Baumgartner, the Austrian who happens to be the first person to break the speed of sound without mechanical gizmos, holds the record for highest manned flight in a baloon and highest free fall jump and fastest descent, filmed the whole extravaganza on his head-cam.

The video is now available to watch but it is pretty sickening if you’re the faint of heart – the whole earth is literally spinning ike crazy.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, or you know, somewhere out of touch with under the social networks, and you’ve missed Felix Baumgartner’s feat – he ascended about 38 km in a baloon and then jumped feet-first back to Earth. It’s quite astonishing, really.

Future WP 8 Buyers

Microsoft is set to unveil its Windows Phone 8 mobile platform on October 29 and we already have a couple of devices to choose from: Samsung ATIV S, Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820, HTC Windows Phone 8X, and HTC Windows Phone 8S and their carrier equivalents, to name a few.

A recent Changewave research unveils that nine percent of those interviewed are inclined to purchase a Windows Phone 8. Two percent out of those find it very likely and seven percent somewhat likely. As far as the preferred OEM is concerned Samsung is leading the pack with 51% followed by Nokia’s 35%; HTC is third accounting for seven percent. The results are rather surprising because out of all Windows Phone 8 devices announced the ATIV S is the one we’ve been barely hearing (or seeing) about. Also, we’re yet to see the start of a huge marketing push which will probably make all the difference between OEMs.

The survey is based on answers from 4,270 consumers based primarily in North America; questions were asked in September.

Apple No Longer Looking To Samsung for quad-core Chips

Image representing Apple as depicted in CrunchBase
Apple

TSMC and Apple rumors either have a rhythmicity to the rumor itself or there definitely must be fire somewhere because there is some smoke. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited also popped up when we wrote a similar news post based on rumors: at that time Apple was allegedly going to ditch Samsung in favor of TSMC for the A5 chip. Same thing was whispered for the A6 chip too.

Truth is that Samsung is making the majority of chips (if not all) inside iOS devices and now, thanks to an analyst, TSMC is back again in the rumors for future Apple-designed SoCs. TSMC’s quad-core chips are said to be more efficient at 20 nanometers than other quad-core offerings on the market ranging from 28 to 45nm.

J.T. Hsu from Citigroup believes the above and China Economic News, who cited Hsu, reports that allegedly Apple already examined the 20nm process this August. Risk production might begin next month with volume production expected around the fourth quarter of next year.

There’s no doubt about the existence of bad blood between Apple and Samsung, beyond competition on the market. These two alone might be enough for the Cupertino-based company to turn its back on Samsung. We’ve heard almost identical reports of HTC considering a similar move, but the alternative suppliers were not named. At this moment it is too early to tell and, as usual when facing information from analysts, treat it accordingly.
