The Samsung Galaxy S III was announced four months before the iPhone 5 and became available much earlier than Apple’s latest offering (about a trimester earlier) but it looks like the Iphone is already generating more data traffic less than three weeks after its release than Samsung’s Android flagship.
Mobile advertising network Chitika has released a report which states that the iPhone 5, despite being available much later, has taken the lead and is in front of the Galaxy S III in terms of data traffic. 56% goes to Apple’s iPhone 5 and 44% to Samsung’s Galaxy S III from all traffic generated by both devices. Chitika’s explains this phenomenon is due to the popularity of the iPhone 5 as well as the “new 4G browsing speeds which encourage data usage”.
The numbers were released after analyzing “millions of mobile ad impressions, spanning a 7-day time frame from October 3rd through October 9th, 2015″
