A mysterious Samsung Android device  was recently spotted at GL Benchmark with the Exynos 5250 processor. Considering that this will probably be the fastest chip on an Android model when launched on a device,  the mystery device has a model number of GT-B9150. According to SamMobile, the "B" on the mode number indicates a physical QWERTY keyboard. The 672 x 1280 resolution of the device could also indicate that there is a physical keyboard on the unit if it is a phone, or the resolution could just indicate that this is a tablet. Android 4.1 is powering the device .

Fans of the side-sliding QWERTY form factor might be hoping that this is the high end model that they have been waiting for for.

Apple Lost To Samsung in UK Court

Image representing Apple as depicted in CrunchBase
Apple
Earlier this year the High Court in London ruled in favor of Samsung and dismissed the Apple’s claims the Galaxy Tabs copied the iPad’s design. The judge went even further ordering Apple to advertise the court’s decision for a month in various websites.

Apple vs Samsung

As expected Apple appealed the court’s decision, but today the Cupertino-based company lost there, too.

The appeal court once again dismissed Apple’s claims and ordered the US company to run the ads and compensate Samsung for the bad publicity.

Apple might decide to appeal in front of the UK Supreme Court, but somehow I really doubt the effort will be worth it.

Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal Released

The newest version of Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal was released recently.

Among the chief new features is the ability to set websites as web apps and pin them to the launcher. You can have websites such as Gmail or Facebook pinned to your launcher and then open them just as you would open an application.

The other new feature is the inclusion of online search for your accounts within the Dash. Earlier you could only search for local files within the OS but now you can type any query and Ubuntu will search your online accounts such as Flickr, Google Drive, etc. as long as you log in to them from within the OS.

Lastly, there is a new Preview option for files within the Dash that lets you preview them without having to open the file.

As usual, Ubuntu 12.10 is completely free to download and install and you can get it from the link below.

Xperia Phones Receiving Jellybean Declared

Sony just announced the update plan of its Xperia line. Here's the list of models that will get updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and also the ones that will remain stuck with 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Sony's latest high-end Xperia phones - the Xperia T, TX and V - will be updated to 4.1 Jelly Bean in mid-Q1 next year.
Next up are the global versions of Xperia S, Xperia acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia P, Xperia go and Xperia J. The release date for the update will be announced later. It's still unclear what will happen to the localized versions.
And now, the ones left behind - the whole 2011 Xperia lineup (which got updated to ICS) will not be getting Jelly Bean because Sony "would not be able to guarantee owners of these smartphones the user experience you expect and we demand".
It's a bit disappointing that the Xperia J, which has a cut-down version of the Qualcomm chipset that powers the 2011 Xperias, is getting JB but the older models are not.

iPhone 5 users dominate Galaxy S3 users in web traffic!

The on-going battle between Apple’s latest device, the iPhone 5 and Samsung’s forerunner, the Samsung  Galaxy S3, has produced a new winner in the latest contest. Recently, a study was carried out by Chitika to find out which of the phones had more web traffic and the results they got proved to be very interesting.

The expectation had been that the Samsung Galaxy S3 would have garnered another win seeing as how it was released in late May and the iPhone 5 was launched only a few weeks ago. However, according to the study performed by Chitika, that is not the case. In their study it became clear that the iPhone 5 won over the Galaxy S3! Or rather, the users did. Let us explain...

So far, the Samsung has managed to sell over 20 million units of the Galaxy S3 in comparison to the 5 million iPhone 5’s that have been sold since it was launched 3 weeks ago. In addition, the sales of the Galaxy S3 are still more than those of the iPhone 5 according to recent reports. Even with those outstanding numbers, the study revealed that users of the iPhone 5 are more active than the users of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with regard to web traffic.

The Chitika analysis was carried out over a 7-day period between October 3rd, 2015 and October 9th, 2015. The analysis was based on a large number of mobile advertisement impressions from both the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3. From those statistics, the analysts were able to track the difference in Internet traffic volumes between the two phones.

It is expected that more studies will be conducted by Chitika as well as other companies to track various statistics for phones or devices that have been launched recently. The statistics are important because from them we are able to see how mobile development is growing. It is assumed that with time, mobile usage will surpass that of the PC, which may one day become obsolete.

Mobile advertisements are going to hold more weight as tablets and smartphones become increasingly available. From the data received by Chitika, it can be seen that search engines like Google would make more profits from mobile advertisements on the iPhone 5 rather than on the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Press Pics Of Huawei W1

We have already heard about the Huawei W1 .Though not an expensive high end WP8 phone it definitely has some killer looks . It has a 4-inch WVGA screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core chipset with 512MB RAM, 5MP camera, and merely 4GB of on-board memory. The good thing about the storage however, is that Windows Phone 8 now allows expansion via a microSD card slot(Remember,WP phones generally dont have micro SD card slots). A 2000mAh will power the handset, so there should be plenty of power to keep it going.

The Huawei W1 should launch soon after the launch of Windows Phone 8 OS on October 29. It should cost around $300.However,it will only be sold in China,if rumours are to be believed.
