Android 4.0 for 7 HTC Phones

Android 4.0 receivable in promptly 2015 for 7 HTC telephones

The frozen custard Sandwich form of Google's portable managing framework will land on HTC telephones early afterward year--but don't look for it on all models.

HTC, which rose to smartphone unmistakable quality with Google's Android working framework, will start offering the late gelato Sandwich form in "right on time 2015," the outfit expressed today.

Look for Android 4.0 on some, but not all units. HTC offered this preparatory post on its Facebook page:

HTC knows how electrified our fans are to get their involved Google's most cutting edge form of Android, frozen dessert Sandwich, so we're thrilled today to affirm the first wave of HTC telephones that will gain redesigns: We can affirm the mark newfangled HTC Vivid, on special starting today, is upgradeable to frozen dessert Sandwich. Besides, sorbet Sandwich is going in promptly 2015 to a mixed bag of mechanisms incorporating the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL and HTC Sensation XE, and additionally the HTC Rezound, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Plan 4G and HTC Surprise 4G through close joining with our transporter mates.

There probable could be more, but HTC isn't dedicating yet. "We're carrying on to evaluate our feature portfolio, so stay tuned for additional redesigns on unit redesigns, timing, and different portions about HTC and frozen custard Sandwich," HTC expressed.

Android overhauls are a disagreeable matter. Google's late working frameworks should sift through telephone producers and portable system drivers before touching base in clients' hands, and that might be an extended methodology even in the cases where it happens. More senior Android telephones would not be able to handle late Android forms, and transporters that have redone the OS with their specific emphasizes need to re-alter it for upgrades.

In an investigation of 18 Android telephones, Michael Degusta found the Android telephones slacked iPhone models in backing for brand new forms of the working framework. Holders of even more current Android models aren't wrong to doubt that they'll see sorbet Sandwich on their telephones.

iPhone 5 Purple Flare Solution?

Many of the consumers of the Apple products, mostly those using the iPhone 5, have a common problem- the iPhone 5s camera and flash seems to have a “purple flare” problem that is rather frustrating since the photographs taken using this camera end up marred by the flare, which appears at the edge of the camera. Bellow is an image comparing the quality of the iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and a Nikon D300.

Due to the numerous complaints, Apple released an explanation for this strange and seemingly unforeseen problem and the general consensus, as always, was that the fault lies with the user. This is basically the standard used by Apple spokespeople when confronted with an issue, any issue; the carpenter blaming his tools rather than themselves for work gone wrong!

According to the company, the “purple flare” problem is not a hardware issue with the iPhone 5’s camera, but rather the user’s limited knowledge of the art of photography. Oh really?! They explained away the problem by stating that the issue of the flare appearing at the edge of the camera was caused by out-of-scene light sources. Apparently, when a source of light is placed at an angle, it reflects off the surface causing the flare.

More problems! Are the users really to blame? We think not!
After giving an informed diagnosis, Apple went on to suggest that users should correct the issue by altering the position of the camera to reduce the amount of bright light entering the camera’s lens or shielding the camera with one’s hand to minimize the flare. It can be assumed that some, if not most, of the customers had already tried these “solutions” therefore it doesn’t really change the fact that the problem is still there.

Other generations of the Apple iPhones, for instance the iPhone 4S, have not had this issue therefore it cannot be the user’s fault, rather not entirely. Being the most advanced smartphone currently on the market, one would assume that the iPhone 5 would not have such issues, but alas! To top it all off, the users are being used as scapegoats while Apple buys time to find an adequate solution for future models. Generally, Apple needs to find a permanent solution for the “purple flare” problem and not expect the users to reduce or deal with it by using a fleshy appendage.

And what’s interesting here is the fact that the Galaxy S III in Japan with its 1.6GHz clock speed runs faster than the international version of the handset or the U.S. models, clocked at 1.4GHz. The device is launching in a gorgeous grey and black colors. So bottomline is that the S III will be slightly faster in Japan, and not only that, but it is launching with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board.

The Galaxy Note II on its part also runs at 1.6GHz, but that’s the same frequency as all other versions, so no differences here.

Nokia Involved In Testin Solar Charging

Nokia DC-40

Nokia has announced the launch of a new charging accessory, the Nokia Portable Solar Charger (DC-40), as part of a pilot project to test the viability of solar charging. The DC-40, which will only be available, in limited quantities, in select African markets, aims is to provide an alternative charging method for mobile phones in areas where there is no electricity supply, or the supply is unreliable.

It's easy to forget that mobile phones have become so ubiquitous that they have spread further that the power grid that the majority of people rely on to recharge a phone's battery. According to Nokia, a recent World Bank report indicated, that between 2007 and 2011, only 16% of Kenyans, and 51% of Nigerians, has regular access to electricity.

Nokia has previously look at a number of other solutions to get around this issue, including the Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit, and has carried out research to explore the viability of building solar panels into phones, but this is the first time it has launched a solar charging accessory. The pilot project will collect feedback from users of the new accessory about how effective it is in day-to-day use. Following this an assessment about whether to make the accessory more widely available will be carried out.

In Kenya the DC-40 will cost 1250 Kenyan shillings, which is the equivalent of around £9 ($15 / €11). The DC-40 takes the form of a thin film panel, weighing 93g, and measuring 165mm x 237mm, with a long cable and 2mm Nokia charging plug attached in one corner. Nokia say that one minute of charging will give two minutes of talk time [on a feature phone]. In ideal conditions, with direct sunlight, a 1000 mAh battery will be full after around 4 hours.

Bruce Howe, General Manager for Nokia East Africa, said:

"There are numerous advantages to this solution, including being able to service consumers outside of regular electricity supply, or those who need a quick charge on the go. However, perhaps the greatest benefit is the cost saving achieved by being able to harness the natural resource of the sun.

Nokia prides itself on its ongoing sustainability programs to minimize power usage. This solar charger provides an extremely environmentally friendly solution that is free of CO2 emissions."
